It seems Italian blogs and news sites are spreading the good word about Passio. The news first appeared on AGR, the news agency of Rizzoli-Corriere della Sera (the major Italian newspaper). It was also published on La Stampa, the FIAT-owned daily based in Turin, and a wide range of Italian-language blogs picked it up from there. Our apologies for any dodgy Italian translations:

Il protagonista e’ l’attore Danny Fox, che interpreta Gesu’ Cristo. Rapporti orali e non solo, orge tra gli Apostoli. Il tutto tra candele accese e incensi, a dare un tocco di misticismo. Uscita’ prevista in America il prossimo 17 ottobre.

Blogger Ivan Mez (link) : La tolleranza ed il rispetto degli altri sono sentimenti che considero a fondamento delle civiltà occidentale e del nostro comune sentire. … Dico questo perchè, pur non essendo cattolico leggo con profonda rabbia e disgusto personale che uscirà a breve in America un film intitolato “Passio” che non è nient’altro che una pellicola hard gay sulla vita di Gesù realizzata da Matthias Von Fistenberg. … Ma mi è inaccettabile l’idea che, di fronte a quel Dio tutto terreno rappresentato dal facile guadagno, dall’arricchirsi ad ogni costo, si possa così inappropriatamente calpestare i sentimenti religiosi di tanta gente.

Gesù Cristo diventa protagonista di un film porno, “Passio“, in uscita in America dal 17 ottobre. Il regista, Matthias Von Fistenberg (immagino un nome d’arte), racconta la storia di un Gesù sex symbol, interpretato da Danny Fox. … Von Fistenberg, che si definisce cattolico, si appella alla legge che regola la libertà di parola: “Forse il papa mi scomunicherà, ma non mi impediranno di esercitare liberamente la mia libertà di espressione. Di certo non viviamo più in un tempo in cui la chiesa controlla i media.”

Ooh yeah, let’s get the Pope involved. He loves flouncing around in big flowing frocks, after all.
