Last week we announced our intention to “kick the Government while it’s down” by turning the ridiculous “gay bomb” fiasco into a hot porno parody. Well, lots of you loved that idea, and wrote about it all over the place.

Mark Adam’s Vidio View: “Written by Isaiah Washington, no doubt, the politically-correct studio head Matthias von Fistenberg says, “We’re not making this up.” Obviously, he reads this column, because I say that all the time.”

Gay gossip blog The Hot Lisp reported the news as well, as did PaperMag, Clusterflock and more.

Fleshbot: “No strangers to making porn movies ripped straight from the headlines, the canny pervs at Dark Alley Media announced today that they will be releasing a smut flick based on a certain years-old “news” story that’s been making the rounds again—and which we’re already sick of hearing about.” Ah well.

JoeMyGod got in on the act too, following from the press release: “To its knees. Yuk, yuk. Rimshot! Wait, that’s a different movie. Dark Alley says they’ll begin work on Gay Bomb in November, right after they finish production of their impending classic, 20 Fist Weekend. Rimshot! Wait, that is the name of their movie. I love my people.”

Personally we were hoping for a bit more teeth-gnashing and rending of clothes, but instead the sneak peek image from Dark Alley’s just filmed religious-themed (and as yet untitled) movie that we posted this week has inspired a remarkably intelligent discussion over free speech and censorship.

GayPornBlog.com picked up the story in a simple, to-the point piece called “Dark Alley’s Martyr Complex”, and the comments have been very enlightening. Here’s just a snippet:

As much as I enjoy antagonizing the fundies, one has to wonder what will happen when Bill Donohue gets a hold of this. And if you think Bill O’Reilly was like a dog with a bone when San Francisco decided to help Colt Studio celebrate its fortieth anniversary, just wait until he sees this.

When an artist, a community, or for that matter a porn peddler starts to self-censor just to please the “normals” and avoid controversy a vital bit of vocabulary is lost and another door closes. True - a naked man mimicking Christ in a porn film may not seem like an important thing to protect, but it is a surprisingly short leap between it and objections leveled at works hanging in a number of great museums around the world (Remember the Mapplethorpe “book burnings” of the 80s and 90s?).

June 12, 2024 (New York / San Francisco). Following the controversial political parody of Gaytanamo, released to huge critical acclaim earlier this year, New York’s most filthy-fun gay film studio Dark Alley Media today announced plans to kick the US Government while it’s down.

Gay Bomb will take us into the future and the year 2012. George the Second has refused to step down as leader of the “free world,” and the nations of Europe have banded together to fight the new American military dictatorship. Desperate to fend off its attackers, the US launches the experimental “gay bomb,” designed to make the enemy forces drop their guns and turn fag. But the winds of fate blow in a different direction, and soon America is brought to its knees.

Recent news headlines revealed that Pentagon insiders admitted to having truly considered the “gay bomb” as an example of non-lethal chemical warfare in the Iraq War. The Air Force asked for a $7.5 million grant to develop the idea, which was proposed to the government’s highest scientific authority.

Dark Alley’s Matthias von Fistenberg said, “We’re really not making this up. In fact, if the Pentagon officials wants to see the outcome of this project, they should tune into Dark Alley TV on December 1.” Owen Hawk agreed: “This was too good an opportunity to pass up. When they’re not busy wiping their asses with the Constitution, they’re showing total contempt for basic scientific knowledge and spending tax dollars to turn armies gay. We should laugh at their expense every chance we get.”
